Watering and…..watering and…..
July 12, 2025.
Oh…it has been a month since my last blog post! A quick update.
I am working in Washington D.C. for the week at Gallaudet University! My first time here….and I am quite impressed. The history, the buildings, the character of the campus….I love it! But I will pass on the 90 degree weather and humidity…you can’t win ’em all.
My husband has been tasked with maintaining my plants (indoor and outdoor) while I am away…I know that is exactly what he wants to be doing after work 😉 but I am thankful for his support! This is prime prep time for my dahlias (or has that been the last several months that I have been working outside…) and neglect would not suffice for this hot weekend.
Before I left, several of my dahlias were starting to pop! Same with my sweet peas (a ridiculous amount…excited to get home and cut them) and my hydrangeas. My dahlias are looking ok; I am still learning! My biggest issue is watering….the consistency, amount, the time required to do it. I bought a few different sprinklers this year. They are working fine but I am constantly adjusting. We shall see how my hubs does this week.
Ok, I have houseplants. I have fresh flowers. Been dropping bouquets around town…and enjoying all the cut flowers at my place. Perhaps a little farmstand on the top of my driveway? Still brainstorming…if you are reading this and have a location in town, let me know! I will drop some flowers off to sell.
Until next time….
