Tubers and Bulbs
Ah tubers and bulbs…where to begin?
My dahlia tubers live in sawdust and cardboard boxes over winter. Early spring or late fall, dahlias are divided. All spring and summer the tubers grow, producing more tubers and lots of flowers. Tubers are dug up around the first frost, late fall. Then tossed back in their boxes and sawdust until spring. This year I will leave a few in the ground and divide the others to share the wealth.
In 2024, around 60 dahlias were planted.
As of April 2025, 70 dahlia tubers have been planted! And by the end of the summer, I had planted over 100 tubers; can’t let any go to waste.
